Stonehenge - England

Back to United Kingdom List

Love the UK. Non stop photo opportunities. Fabulous houses, gardens, sheep, food and so much more. Enjoyed my journey through England and Wales.

First stop was to get to Stonehenge for Summer Solstice. It is completely open to the public and free of charge. A big party all night long. Of course I was hoping for the sun at sunrise, along with the other few thousand party goers, but it was too over cast. Just a tiny glimse of light.

Over night as I was leaning against the stones and shooting handheld, I experimented with exposure and waited for lights that were in the area to make a visual impact. As you will see, the colors are extreme. The photos are untouched, they are as they were recorded by the camera. I think they are fun and I am very pleased with what I was able to do in the dark and no tripod.

I went back a few days later to see if as a regular tourist and see if with out the party goers.
